The Radical SR1 Cup kicks off this weekend alongside the new-for-2016 Radical Challenge Championship second round at Brands Hatch in Kent, and you can follow the action with our best-ever coverage.
ALL Radical races from this weekend’s event will be streamed LIVE on Radicalsportscars.com, Radical TV on YouTube and on race.tv.
2016 SR1 Cup Racing Commences
This weekend is the first competitive action in the 2016 SR1 Cup, Radical’s establsihed rookie-to-racer package. Following a comprehensive programme of trackdays and tuition our class of ’16 will finally put it all into practice for two thrilling 20-minute races.
Look out for new faces including James Taylor, Marko Niksic, Peter Devlin, Spencer Bourne, Richard Baxter and Oliver Barker go to battle with second-year SR1 racers such as Kye Wheatley, Rob Ellice and Andy Chittenden.
Capacity Radical Challenge Championship Grid
Following on from a capacity opening round at Snetterton at the end of March, Brands Hatch will also feature a sold-out grid, ensuring plenty of action on the 1.2-mile Indy layout.
Fresh from the Barbados Festival of Speed Radical races last weekend, Brit Jack Manchester and Carribean racer Stuart Maloney will rejoin the field, alongside other new-for-2016 stars including former Formula Jedi ace Jack Lang and Russian newcomer Evgeny Klyucharev, sharing with multiple Radical champion Bradley Smith.
After a hat-trick of victories at Snetterton, Steve Burgess leads the series with SR1 Cup graduate Mark Richards and Lang in hot pursuit. The Team and SR1 Challenge are both up for grabs at Brands too, with neither World Superbike champ Sylvain Guintoli, or Matthew George in Kent to defend them.
