Technical Sales Assistant
Due to our growing order book we are expanding our sales team, and require an experienced technical sales assistant to join our team, based at our Sevenoaks site.
Experience in transmission and drivetrain components would be a distinct advantage, however not essential, as onsite training can be provided although a general basic knowledge of car mechanics is essential.
The main roles of the successful candidate will be:
- To ensure customer satisfaction is met from first sales call to delivery of the order
- Taking customers’ payments and ensuring money has been received
- Answering incoming phone calls (sales & technical)
- Answering customer e-mails (sales & technical)
- Keeping customers informed on order delivery dates
- Liaising with stores to check stock levels on products and raise works orders
- Dealing with customers face to face when they are met on site
- Managing top account customers and ensure all their requirements are met
- Representing Quaife at shows when required

Junior Quality Inspector
Are you interested in Quality, with experience of reading engineering drawings and measuring parts/components? Do you want to work within the Engineering sector?
In this role you will spend most of your time based on the shop floor, ensuring the components produced are of the highest quality and correct to customer specifications. You will carry out conformance tests and assist with the ISO 9001 standards.
This opportunity would suit a someone looking to join a company that can offer technical development, progression, and the chance to work with top of the range measuring machinery in an expanding business.
The role will consist of:
- Reporting to the Quality Manager
- Working with CMM tools
- Supporting standards for ISO 9001
- Checking products against customer/Internal specifications
- Creating & updating Visual Aids
- Carrying out shop floor patrol inspections
- Working 8am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-3:30pm Friday
The successful candidate:
- Ability to read engineering drawings desired but not required
- Experience of using measuring equipment: Vernier calipers etc. desired but not required
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and on time
- A Self-motivated, positive, and flexible attitude
Full on-site training will be provided for this role.
This role will be based, initially, at our Sevenoaks site for a few months, before moving to our Gillingham factory upon successful completion of the training/probation period.
Night Shift CNC Turner – Programmer / Setter / Operator
We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced, preferably time served, CNC turning programmer / setter / operator to join our night shift turning team, working predominantly from our Gillingham site.
You should be fully conversant in Fanuc or an equivalent G Code system, and be capable of programming at the machine, and setting a part from drawing.
CAD/CAM experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
An excellent understanding of materials, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds is essential. A high standard of quality is expected from all of our staff, as is the ability to work efficiently and to close tolerances.

CNC Vertical Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator
We are looking for an experienced, preferably time served, CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator for our vertical machining centres based predominantly at our Sevenoaks site.
The applicant should be fully conversant in Fanuc, and be capable of programming and setting a part from drawing. A good knowledge of fixture design and work holding is required, as the majority of jobs are recurring, and need to be ”operator friendly”.
An excellent understanding of materials, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently and to close tolerances.
A high standard of quality is expected from all of our staff.
