RT Quaife Engineering Ltd is a well-established engineering company based in Kent, which has been trading for over 50 years. We specialise in providing powertrain solutions to the motorsport industry, and control the entire process from design to manufacture in-house. We have modern facilities with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure we are always at the forefront of our field.

Due to a recent increase in orders, a number of exciting positions have become available at RT Quaife Engineering’s manufacturing facilities based in Gillingham and Sevenoaks, Kent.

We are currently seeking:

Maintenance Engineer

Due to our growing order book, we are expanding our Maintenance team and require an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team, based at both Gillingham & Sevenoaks sites.

The successful Maintenance Engineer will ideally be a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with experience of working within a manufacturing environment. Those from high volume manufacturing will be at an advantage.

The Maintenance Engineer role itself is a self-motivated role. You will be responsible for maintaining the PPM schedule and reacting to breakdowns as quickly and efficiently as possible. You will be responsible for project, installation, and improvement works across both sites.

The main roles of the successful candidate will be:

  • To ensure all maintenance work is completed to the correct standards.
  • To ensure all breakdowns and remedial work is completed, recorded onto the maintenance system.
  • To ensure all PPMs are completed to the agreed standard and also within the allocated time frame.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety, company policies and procedures – creating and updating shop floor risk assessments.
  • All maintenance work to be completed to the highest standard with the emphasis on a lasting solution and to make decisions regarding when to repair and when to replace by analysing the cost against efficiency both immediately and for the future.
  • Have a good all-round knowledge of machine tools and site equipment, including CNC mills, lathes, grinders, & gear cutting machines.
  • Decommissioning/moving and re-installation of machines
  • Liaise & support external contractors where required (legal inspections or site works).

Desired Experience:

  • Be certified to 18th edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.
  • Hands on maintenance background within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hold an NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds or equivalent.
  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing – multi skilled.
  • Health & Safety IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Be able to use the company computers with ease and have a general understanding of using basic Microsoft products.

Stores Assistant

Due to our growing order book, we are expanding our stores team and require a reliable self-motivated individual to join our team, based at our Sevenoaks site. Are you looking for a fresh challenge within a specialist motorsport engineering company? Here at R T Quaife Engineering Ltd we are looking to recruit individuals to make a significant difference to our organisation.

Whether you have previous experience in a similar role or transferable skills from another industry, we promise to give you training, ongoing support and development so that you can act within the company’s best interest.

The main roles of the successful candidate will be:

  • Correctly picking stock against despatch notes/ works orders.
  • Checking/putting away deliveries from suppliers.
  • Checking/putting away products received from the factory.
  • Carrying out stock level checks.
  • Liaising with Sales Office/Factory/Fitting/Despatch.
  • Assisting with packing, despatch when required.
  • Processing works orders on computer / sending, receiving emails.
  • General housekeeping / tidiness.

Desired Experience / skills:

  • Experience in a previous stock handling role.
  • Experience working with IT equipment. (Microsoft programmes).
  • Good communication skills, (phone & email).

Experience in these fields would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

Skilled CNC machinists for both the turning and milling sections who are able to program, set and operate FANUC controlled machining centres. 

For these roles, candidates would have preferably completed a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or have completed at least four years training within the industry and are fully conversant in FANUC or a similar G-code based system.

An excellent understanding of materials, tooling, cutting speeds and feed is essential to these roles, as is the ability to work efficiently and to close tolerances from an engineering drawing.

General machine operators to support the above. 

Experience in an engineering environment is preferable but not essential as training will be given on site, however the ability to work logically and efficiently is required as successful candidates will have specific time and quantity targets to achieve.

We can offer a competitive salary, based on experience, plus 29 days annual leave inclusive of bank and public holidays.
