More motorsport success for Quaife’s ATB limited slip differential

Weekend in, weekend out, Quaife’s ATB helical gear limited slip differential is used in a wide variety of motorsport disciplines to great effect and two diverse examples of this come from a pair of successful sprint competitors.

Firstly 20 year old Tony Tute has won the German NAS-CUP sprint championship in his kerb-hopping Team Tute run 1.4-litre, 16-valve Volkswagen Lupo. Tute uses the Quaife ATB helical gear limited slip differential part number QDF22R to improve traction and maximise performance on his Lupo sprint car and praises the ‘the excellent and brilliant differential’ – the perfect case study of a successful front wheel drive motorsport application.

Back in the UK, loyal Quaife customer Pete Goulding’s Westfield sprint car has notched up even more wins in the AEMC sprint championship. Goulding’s car uses Quaife’s advanced QBM1M four-speed sequential gearbox with a 7 inch Quaife ATB differential for its Sierra back axle, carrying part number QDF15Z. Combined with Goulding’s abilities behind the wheel, this Quaife high performance drivetrain set up delivers the optimum blend of gearing and ATB enhanced traction to deliver some stunning results – see this video below.

For example on the weekend of the 21st September Goulding not only won his class at the Borough 19 Motor Club’s North Weald sprint, he ended up being the fastest road car at the event and clocked second fastest overall time, being beaten only by a slick-shod single seater. Again this is proof positive that against the clock Quaife’s ATB helical gear limited slip differentials are ideal for rear wheel drive motorsport use – as Pete Goulding’s competitors have now discovered!
