Quaife® is pleased to announce that it is working in conjunction with respected marque specialist Autolusso (www.autolusso.co.uk) to develop a sequential gearkit for Alfa Romeo GTA / GT applications designed for fast road, track day and competition use.
Provisionally part numbered QKE9D, the Quaife / Autolusso sequential gearkit will feature six close ratio gears and will incorporate the latest Quaife technology to deliver ultra-rapid gearshifts in a robust, affordable, easy to install package for owners of Alfa Romeo 147 GTA /156 GTA /GT 3.2 models up to 2006.
Using the same design methodology as Quaife’s existing hugely successful range of sequential gearkits for Ford, Honda, Lotus and Mitsubishi applications, QKE9D will be a direct replacement for the original Alfa Romeo ‘H’-pattern transmission as fitted to these V6 models. QKE9D will utilise the original Alfa Romeo transmission bell housing with the addition of a bespoke Quaife cast outer case containing a state of the art sequential shift mechanism operated by a new design of Quaife gear lever.
To ensure reliability QKE9D’s heavy-duty gear train will incorporate wider than standard straight-cut close ratio gears featuring the latest open face dog engagement design with larger dog rings already proven in numerous other Quaife applications.
QKE9D will be sold as a comprehensive package that for ease of installation purposes will reuse the standard Alfa Romeo drive shafts, clutch, flywheel, starter motor and associated ancillaries, making it a like-for-like replacement for the stock transmission.
Key technical features of the Quaife QKE9D six-speed Alfa Romeo sequential gear kit will include the following:-
• Ultra-fast Quaife sequential gearshift with replacement lever
• Choice of close ratio gear ratios (to be confirmed)
• Choice of Quaife final drive ratio included
• Quaife ATB limited slip differential (QDH6E) will be available as cost option
• Optional LED digital gear readout available (QMLED) will be available as cost option
The full Alfa Romeo application list for QKE9D will include: 156 2.5V6 / 156 GTA / 147GTA / GT 3.2 / 166 2.5, 3.0 & 3.2 / 156 2.4 10-valve (not 20-valve) / 147, 156 ,GT 1.9 JTD 16-valve / 147, 156 1.9 JTD 8-valve.
