Technical Sales

RT Quaife Engineering Ltd is looking for a motivated individual to join our team of highly successful Technical Customer Service Advisors who demonstrate on a daily basis the quality of service we strive to offer. Applicants must have current experience in a customer facing role and preferably (although not essential) within the motorsport industry. You will be primarily responsible for accepting orders of a technical nature and seeing them through to completion in a timely manner as well as explaining our products to customers and troubleshooting technical problems where necessary. You will also be using an MRP system to update customers on the progress of orders and stock availability to give customers the most up to date information and upselling and offering our customers alternative solutions where possible. At all times you will be working with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to take ownership of a job or process and use their engineering knowledge to advise customers on the most suitable products. They must also have excellent computer skills and a polite and professional telephone manner. This is an office based role but one that could occasionally see the applicant working in any area of the company including the factory and stores.

The position is located at Quaife’s Head Office in Sevenoaks, Kent, where a high standard of quality is expected from all of our staff, as is the ability to work in a dynamic enviroment.

CNC Milling Programmer.

Senior Setter position.

We are looking for an experienced, preferably time served, CNC Milling Programmer / setter / operator to join our milling team working on vertical machining centres based predominantly at our Sevenoaks site.

You should be fully conversant in Fanuc and be capable of programming and setting a part from drawing. A good knowledge of fixture design and work holding is required, as the majority of parts are recurring, and need to be “operator friendly “.

An excellent understanding of materials, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently and to close tolerances.

A high standard of quality is expected from all of our staff.

For the right candidate the role may also require an element of leadership if we feel that you show the aptitude and attitude to be considered a Senior Setter.

As a Senior Setter you will be expected to lead by example by displaying a “ can do “ attitude towards the role.

Encourage team members to take pride in their work and learn from their mistakes.

Ensure that where applicable, machines are kept running and that future jobs has been pre planned to eliminate any unnecessary down time due to required tooling or because of a lack of information on the drawing itself.

To work closely with production to ensure parts are machined in the correct order of priority and to offer advice on the most efficient way these can be put through the section.

You will also need to take responsibility for the section as a whole to ensure it is the best it can be.

CNC Cylindrical Grinder Programmer

We are looking for a programmer / setter / operator for our CNC cylindrical grinder to join our team at our manufacturing plant in Gillingham, Kent.

Preferably time served or equivalent, you will be responsible for the finishing operation on the majority of our differential assemblies plus other components that require a fine finish along with a close tolerance.

You must be able to think jobs through using your experience to decide the most efficient and effective way of machining. You must also be qualified to change and dress the wheels.

An excellent understanding of materials, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently and to close tolerances.

A high standard of quality is expected from all of our staff.
