Q: I can't find my car on your Diff application list. How do I get one?
A: The first step is to phone the QUAIFE sales team. As a company that's been going for forty two years, QUAIFE have a wide inventory of parts, not all of which is listed in our catalogue or website...
If we do not have what you're looking for, maybe we could make them for you? With a minimum order, and an original sample or drawings, we can produce our unique differential for almost any vehicle.
Q: Where can I find a technical drawing of my Quaife gearbox and diff?
A: Technical drawings for most Quaife products are available to download from our website. Please click on the 'Products' pull down and then follow the 'Technical drawings' link.. We do ask you to register your name to access these drawings, but this is very simple and you won't be bombarded with junk emails!
Q: Do I need to set-up my car differently to use a Quaife diff?
A: To maximise the performance of your car when using a Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential, the vehicle needs to keep both driving wheels in contact with the ground at all times. If the car is set up for a standard 'open' diff, then no suspension adjustment should be necessary.
However, if you are replacing a 'locking' or 'speed sensing' type differential, adjustments will be required to prevent a driven wheel from lifting when cornering hard.
Q: What oil should I be using with my Quaife gearbox or diff?
A: Quaife recommend Silkolene lubricants for all of its gearkits, gearboxes and differentials, as it has proven performance over a wide temperature range and helps extend component life.
Silkolene Pro SRG 75 GL3 / GL4 100% Esther synthetic racing gear oil is our choice for synchromesh gearkits and gearboxes.
Silkolene Silktran Syn GL4 / GL5 is recommended for all applications. Silkolene lubricants are available to buy from Quaife Engineering. Please call or email us for more details.
Q: What gear ratio set would best suit my vehicle?
A: Several factors need to be taken into consideration when selecting gear ratios: Desired top speed of the vehicle, peak engine speed and tyre rolling circumference.

Q: Why are there some POA (price on application) prices on the website and in the catalogue?
A: Some products are only available through nominated Quaife distributors. These prices are set independently of Quaife's internal pricing structure, hence the Price On Application tag.
Q: Can I purchase Quaife products directly from the factory?
A: Yes you can. Most Quaife products are available directly from our Sevenoaks facility and we keep a large stock inventory.

Q: Can I perform clutch-less gear changes with my Quaife dog gearbox?
A: We would always recommend using the clutch when changing gear, as this will prolong the life of the gearbox and reduce service costs.
Q: What is the torque bias ratios of the Quaife ATB Helical LSD Differential?
A: The Quaife ATB Helical LSD Differential does not have a bias ratio; this is not the principal by which it operates. The Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential constantly adjusts the torque across the axle to achieve a balanced drive to both wheels.
Q: Can Quaife fit the ATB Helical LSD differential or Quaife gearkit?
A: We can provide a fitting service for both Quaife ATB Helical LSD differentials gearkits to a gearbox supplied. Unfortunately at present we are unable to undertake work on actual vehicles.
