Mindful of the challenging demands of motorsport,

Quaife’s research and development emphasis is split between in-house testing and real world evaluation. Since 2008, Quaife has utilised an advanced Axiline 97000EC transient transmission dynamometer to further expand the capabilities of its R&D department.

Quaife’s Axiline dynamometer allows its R&D team to optimise every component in a design, by focussing on reducing internal power losses, plus bearing performance, tooth form analysis and even gear casing function. In addition, gearshift quality and shift response time can be finely and repeatedly analysed by Quaife’s R&D team.

However, there is no substitute for real world testing and here Quaife Engineering works in close association with commercial partners to evaluate a wide range of transmission components on the circuit, rally stage, or drag strip. Feedback from this testing is used to further hone Quaife designs to ensure the ultimate in reliability and performance.
