“Quaife Engineering has been in the forefront of high performance transmission technology since 1965, when our father, Rodney Quaife, produced the first five speed gear cluster for a Triumph motorcycle. This gear kit, which went on to compete with considerable success at the famous Daytona events, embodied a philosophy that still’s central to every Quaife product – that of affordable excellence.

Since then Quaife Engineering has grown to become a very successful business, producing thousands of transmission products both for the UK market but also for overseas. Nonetheless whether we are producing a small volume motorsport transmission, a prototype electric vehicle power train, or an OEM differential order, our goals are always the same, to deliver outstanding quality and performance.
 

Quaife Engineering boasts a highly advanced 3D CAD drawing office, which uses the very latest FEA software to ensure designs are optimised before any metal is cut. Combined with large-scale, long-term investment in robotic CNC machining centres, state of the art coordinate measuring equipment and a highly skilled and dedicated workforce, Quaife consistently delivers transmission solutions across a diverse variety of sectors.

Quaife has an ongoing involvement in motorsport at a variety of levels, both on two wheels and four, which means as a company we understand the time pressures and competitive edge that’s required to succeed, on and off the track. Our designers, machinists and assembly technicians thrive on the tight deadlines, engineering challenges and quality requirements that put Quaife’s numerous motorsport clients in a winning position – including Caterham, Ginetta and Radical.

This same ‘can do’ attitude exists within Quaife’s volume OEM ATB differential program. Our 23,000 square feet plant in Gillingham Quaife supplies some of the world’s leading car manufacturers, most recently the Ford Motor Company for the acclaimed 300bhp Mk2 Focus RS.

Gearboxes

Complete replacement gearboxes tailored for the demands of motorsport, offering significant performance improvements and faster ratio selection.

Gear Kits

Standard original equipment gearing is a trade off between fuel economy, top speed, noise and comfort, representing a major compromise for motorsport use.

Differentials

ATB helical gear limited slip differentials (LSD) prevent the complete loss of drive that occurs when one wheel spins, controlling the power transmitted to both wheels.
