The youngest Supercar racer in the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship, Andrew Jordan, completed an outstanding first season in the sport's top class by taking his second win of the season and securing third place in the final Championship standings, at Croft on 21/22 October.
The day did not start well for Jordan who was forced to retire from the first heat with mechanical problems. Bouncing back in the second and third heats, Jordan set fastest time of the day and qualified second on the 'A' final grid, alongside defending Champion Pat Doran who was back in top form after a troubled run in round seven earlier in the month.
Multiple British and Irish Champion Dermot Carnegie completed the front row of the grid, and the three battled for position in the opening stages of the 'A' final. Jordan soon moved ahead and established a two-second lead, which he held to win and claim pole position for the Superfinal.
This time Jordan led from the start, with Doran running second ahead of John McCluskey. But he was unable to match Jordan's pace as the Focus Supercar driver broke free at the front and pulled clear, to secure his second event win of the year.
Doran was set for second place until his Fiesta lost speed part way through the last lap with an unidentified engine problem. McCluskey made his move to take second place and George Tracey squeezed past on the finish line to take the last podium place.
Tracey and Steve Hill had both moved up the order after Ollie O'Donovan and Carnegie clashed while fighting for fourth place. Both rejoined the race, with Carnegie finishing sixth ahead of O'Donovan who was the last finisher after Steve Mundy was forced to retire his Focus with suspension damage.
