CPL RACING CRACKS THE 10 SECOND BARRIER

CPL Racing's EP3 Civic Type R's just seem to get quicker and quicker, particularly the ‘man himself' - Guy Chamberlain - who broke into the ten second mark on the 17th June 2007 at Shakespeare County Raceway.
Sensationally he clocked a first run of 10.999 seconds @ 137.56 mph, backed up 90 minutes later with a 10.976 @ 137.73 mph. Tellingly, the track was not overly prepped on the day and Guy has seen much better 60 foot times from this car, so there is definitely more to come from his awesome turbocharged EP3 this season, complete with its Quaife ATB differential.

This success wasn't a solo affair either, as customer Scott Whitelaw has also run an 11.6 second pass in his CPL built Jackson Racing supercharged Civic Type R this year, making this the quickest supercharged Honda in Europe.  This is over a second quicker than any other supercharged Honda, and is still running on a stock engine. Plus CPL's big block 2.5 litre normally aspirated Civic Type R has also taken the record for the quickest N/A Honda with a 12.0 second run on 6th May, again over a second quicker than the previous record.

CPL Racing now holds all three records, but are keen to stress that they couldn't have achieved the above without the backing of  their sponsors and supporters: ARP, Earls, Quaife Engineering, Clutchmasters, Virtual Racer, Hondata and  Japanese Performance Magazine.
